The UFD (Uniunea Forţelor de Dreapta = Union of Right-Wing Forces) was
originally founded in 1996 as PAR (Partidul Alternativa României =
Alternative for Romania Party). It changed its name to UFD in 2000 and
was absorbed by the Partidul Naţional Liberal in 2003. The PAR had three seats in the
1996-2000 Chamber of Deputies and three seats in the Senate.
The UFD had an arms-like symbol: a shield Sable with a lion rampant Or,
holding a cross Or in its dexter forepaw. The flag was yellow with the
symbol in the center. I don't know if these symbols had already been
in use by the PAR.
